Career and Employment Services provides a free “Job Referral Service" designed to assist TCC students and alumni in finding employment.  This service consists of submitting job seekers resumes to prospective employers and/or contacting job seekers with information on job opportunities and employment related activities. In order to utilize the service, you must:

  • Be a Current TCC Student
  • Be a TCC Alumni
  • Have a 2.0 or Better GPA 

Steps for utilizing the Job Referral Service:

  1. Call the office at (757) 822-7228 to schedule an appointment to have your resume reviewed.
  2. Bring in a copy of your current TCC Unofficial Transcript to show: proof of current enrollment at TCC; you are a TCC Alumni; that you possess a 2.0 or better GPA - at the time of your resume appointment!
  3. Upon final approval of your resume, you will receive the PDFJob Referral Application via email to complete and send back to the office.
  4. Your review will be forwarded to prospective employers (if requested by the employer); you will  receive information on job opportunities by phone, U.S. mail or e-mail.

At the end of each semester, update letters will be mailed out requiring you to update your file. If you do not respond by the due date, it will be assumed that you are no longer interested in using the service or you have found employment. Note: If you find a job while utilizing the Job Referral Service, please contact the office.  For reporting purposes!

Note:  The office assists you in locating employment opportunities.  However, the office cannot guarantee placement.
