TCC WI-FI

 

Wave goodbye to the TCCWave.

Say hello to more secure wireless at TCC.

 

TCC’s former open wireless network has been replaced with two authenticated Wi-Fi networks: SecureTCC and AccessTCC.

 

TCC’s new wireless technology provides

  • faster speeds;
  • better connectivity and roaming;
  • more device support; and
  • increased security.

TCC students will use their current VCCS student login credentials. TCC faculty and staff will use their current TCC login credentials.

 

Here are instructions on how to connect to TCC Wi-Fi from various devices.

 

GOOGLE ANDROID

(Phones, Tablets, and Chromebooks)

1.       Have your TCC or VCCS username and password readily available.

2.       Tap Settings.

3.       Tap Wireless & Networks.

4.       Tap Wi-Fi.

5.       Tap SecureTCC.

6.       A settings window will appear; make sure that the following settings are selected:

a.       EAP method – PEAP

b.      Phase 2 authentication – MSCHAPV2

c.       CA certificate – (unspecified)

7.       In Identity, enter your TCC or VCCS username.

8.       In Password, enter the password associated with your username.

9.     Tap Connect.

10.   You should now be connected to SecureTCC.

APPLE OSX

1.       Have your TCC or VCCS username and password readily available.

2.       Click the Wi-Fi menu at the top right of your screen.

3.       Select SecureTCC.

4.       Enter your TCC or VCCS username and password at the prompt.

5.       Click Continue when prompted to verify the certificate.

a.       Show Certificate should reveal a certificate
           from “clearpass.tcc.edu”

6.       To confirm the certificate trust, authenticate with your MAC OSX username and password.

7.       You should now be connected to SecureTCC.

APPLE iOS

(iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)

1.       Have your TCC or VCCS username and password readily available.

2.       On the home screen, tap the Settings icon.

3.       Under Settings, tap Wi-Fi.

4.       Connect to AccessTCC.

5.       When the captive portal appears, tap Students, Faculty, and Staff.

6.       Select Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) from the device menu.

7.       Click “I Agree” and then proceed with Wi-Fi setup.

8.       The Install Profile menu will appear.

a.       Click Install.  Enter your device passcode if prompted.

b.      A Warning will appear, click Install.

c.      Enter your TCC or VCCS username and then
         tap Next.

d.      Enter the password associated with your
         username and then tap Next.

9.     The menu title will change to Profile Installed.

10.   Tap Done.

11.   You should now be connected to SecureTCC.

MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 & 8

1.       Have your TCC or VCCS username and password readily available.

2.       Click on the Wi-Fi menu at the lower right of your screen.

3.       Connect to AccessTCC.

4.       When the captive portal appears click Students, Faculty, and Staff.

5.       Select Microsoft Windows Laptop or Tablet PC from the device menu.

6.     Click “I Agree” and then Proceed with Wi-Fi Setup.

7.     An executable will be downloaded to your device.

8.     Run the executable and follow the instructions presented
        by the Aruba QuickConnect application.

a.     Administrator rights may be required.

b.     When presented with Security Warnings for
         certificate installations, click Yes to install
         them. The certificates are shown below.

i.      “GlobalSign Organization Validation
        CA – SHA2”

ii.     “clearpass.tcc.edu”

c.    Enter your TCC or VCCS username and
       password when prompted.

d.    When configuration of your system is
       complete, click Connect.

e.    Successful authentication will result in a
       screen showing your current Wi-Fi IP. The
       Aruba QuickConnect application can be closed
       at this point.

9.       Windows may display a prompt stating that additional
          information is needed to connect to SecureTCC.

a.    Click the prompt and enter your TCC or
        VCCS username and password.

10.   You should now be connected to SecureTCC.
